Are you looking to deepen your learning about urban water issues and explore collaborations with other funders engaged in the field?

Register now for a funder meeting in Brooklyn, N.Y. and Newark, N.J. on urban water issues, including climate resilience, green stormwater infrastructure, and integrated water management, or “one water” strategies. The convening will begin on Tuesday, May 29 with an optional site tour of climate resilient redevelopment underway in Brooklyn and end on Wednesday, May 31 with funder-only sessions and discussions. We welcome participation by all interested funders.

Join us for a chance to learn and share best practices and innovative approaches to climate resilience, one water strategies, and green infrastructure, as well as explore opportunities for effective collaboration on these and other water issues.

Tuesday, May 29 in Brooklyn, N.Y.
• 2–5 p.m.: Optional Site Tour in Red Hook, Brooklyn
• 6:30 p.m.: Optional Funder Dinner

Wednesday, May 30 in Newark, N.J.
• 8 a.m.: Breakfast available
• 9 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Urban Water Funders Meeting
• 2–5 p.m.: Site Tour in Newark, N.J.
• 6:30 p.m.: Urban Water Funders Networking Dinner

Thursday, May 31 in Newark, N.J.
• 8 a.m.: Breakfast available
• 9 a.m. – noon: Urban Water Funders meeting

Who Should Attend?

Registration is open to donors, staff, directors, and trustees of all grantmaking institutions. We are seeking to facilitate strategic conversations among funders who are engaged in this field, with the goal of identifying where philanthropic resources can have the greatest impact.

Meeting Highlights
• Site visits and presentations with experts to learn firsthand about equitable, climate resilient redevelopment and innovative one water strategies in the New York – New Jersey Harbor Estuary.
• Peer-to-peer learning and networking with funders.

Where Can I Stay?
The Funders' Network has reserved a block of rooms at the Hotel Indigo Newark Downtown, located near Newark’s Penn Station. There is a discounted room rate of $152 per night for attendees. To book your hotel room, call the hotel toll free at 866-246-3446. When calling to book your reservation, reference the Funders' Network group block.

Room rates are subject to sales/room taxes. The group room block ends on Monday, April 30. Attendees are responsible for making their own reservations and booking their own travel. Accommodations are not included in the registration fee. (Meals during the convening are provided.)

Registration
This meeting is underwritten by the supporters of the Urban Water Funders. As a result, there is a modest registration fee of $250 to participate in this convening. The registration fee is waived for members and contributors to the Urban Water Funders and the Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities.
