HEFN helps members deepen their knowledge of environmental health and justice issues and how their grantmaking can better support frontline communities. Our many events, working groups, in-person gatherings, and issue insights provide funders with opportunities to learn, connect, and collaborate to make an even greater collective impact.

HEFN members take direction from the movements closest to the issues, understanding that the best and most appropriate solutions to environmental problems come from those with first-hand experience and a personal stake in the health and future of their communities.

HEFN nurtures the leadership and professional growth of its members by creating spaces where funder staff and movement partners can strategize, learn and work together. Our nimble and flexible structure allows funders to easily connect around topics of interest and form affinity groups for greater learning.
