Workgroups
Advancing solutions together
HEFN convenes several workgroups and learning communities to help funders navigate major environmental health and justice problems, support funder collaboration to accelerate problem-solving, build leadership and expand investment. Active working groups include:
Detox/Decarb Working Group
This workgroup holds regular meetings co-led by working group chairs and HEFN staff, with additional calls for a sub-group of members working to increase funding to the field of toxics specifically.
Participatory Grantmaking Learning Community
The community hosts monthly calls that include deep dives on funds, discussion of key participatory grantmaking themes and tensions, and targeted support for the community’s members.
Lead Funders Action Network (LFAN)
This network meets regularly and is focused on convening national, regional, state, and local foundations to address gaps in the field of childhood lead poisoning prevention.
HEFN Town Halls
These informal quarterly calls offer an opportunity for members to hear updates about the work of the network, ask questions, and connect outside of issue-area-specific calls and events throughout the year.
