Following January's chemical spill in Charleston, West Virginia that has caused massive drinking water contamination, HEFN has been supporting its members and other funders in philanthropic response.
HEFN has set up an email group to support communications among funders concerned about the environmental health and justice response; for more information contact Ramtin Arablouei.
Read recent blog posts by HEFN members, including Ann Cornell’s post putting the West Virginia spill into context of Appalachian communities’ long-term fight against mountaintop removal mining, and Vanessa Daniel's post challenging philanthropy to respond beyond traditional "siloes" of focus.
Visit HEFN on Facebook to see recent resources posted on our wall by concerned funders and NGOs.
