The session’s panel will include organizations and funders who have experienced state attacks on philanthropy and movement groups leading critical justice work under authoritarian regimes. Session participants will learn about the current risks to their own operations and the work of their partners as well as some lessons learned and practical strategies to start addressing these risks.

CS Fund is a nonprofit family foundation dedicated to creating an equitable democracy, achieve a just transition to a regenerative economy and food system, and mitigate climate chaos. CSF addresses critical, under-resourced issues; contends with root causes of problems; and seeks systemic solutions.
Democratizing Justice Initiative engages, educates, and connects like-minded donors and foundations around the impact of Police Unions on criminal justice reform and the intersections with other issue areas such as, Health, Housing, Economic Justice, and others. DJI provides funders opportunities for aligned and collaborative investments with a growing number of partners.
Funders for Justice is a national funder organizing platform mobilizing resources to grassroots organizing, led by and for people of color ,at the intersections of racial justice, gender justice, ending criminalization, and building models for community safety and justice.
Piper Fund connects and resources grassroots organizations dedicated to protecting our democracy and envisioning reforms to make it more inclusive and representative. We break down silos to support community-led coalitions and help build dynamic movements that produce powerful change.
