HEFN’s Building Leadership priority encompasses work to strengthen philanthropic and field champions for environmental health and justice solutions, by:

• Strengthening funder knowledge of the field and relationships
• Highlighting leadership from impacted communities in programming
• Building members’ and staff skills and commitments for equity-advancing philanthropy
• Developing partnerships across philanthropy-serving organizations to broaden the reach of this leadership development work

Many opportunities within this program area are in development for 2025, including tight-knit learning cohorts around specific topic areas and/or audiences, as well as increased engagement with movement partners.

HEFN Town Halls

HEFN holds quarterly town halls for members. These informal, loosely structured calls offer an opportunity for members to hear updates about the work of the network, ask questions, and connect outside of more issue-area-specific calls and events that happen throughout the year. These calls are co-organized by the Communications and Membership Engagement Manager and the Director of Programs.
